Poodle Walk Report - Western Foreshores of Ginninnderra Lake - 15/03/08

Attendees:

Jenny with MP Barney and PP Basil - Barney and Basil were keen to do this walk as they were on the February walk and so they knew that this would be a fun walk meeting up with lots of poodles and a having some great free runs.

Bridget and Peter with MP Indi and PP Buddy - Despite Indi being on medication he still was enthuisiastic about coming on the walk. Buddy always has a great time on the poodle walks too and this time he took to the water and paddled around. The paddlers always end up looking bedraggled and in need of a good groom but boy do they have fun.

Christopher with SP Elsie - Elsie was kept on lead on the last walk but this time Chris decided to let her join the others who were off lead and she had a ball. It's hard to know when to trust a pup off lead for the first time but Elsie proved what a good girl she is and she ran and played to her hearts content but still came back to Chris when she was called. She was only milding interested in her pancakes at McDonalds after the walk but I think she was just a little bit on the tired side after all that exercise - after all she is only an 8 months old puppy .

Marisa with MP Koko - Marisa and Koko are fairly new members and this was the first poodle walk for them both. This was a whole new experience for Koko and he too was given a chance to have some fun off lead and he did what his Mum has been longing for him to do and that is socialise with the other poodles. He had a wonderful time interacting with the other poodles so I'm sure he will ask his Mum to bring him on more poodle walks in the future.

Catherine with MP Coconut - Coco was his usual fun self and he decided, being the friendly poodle that he is, that he would try and join in with a group of adults who were exercising on the foreshore with their swords. Coco probably thought the swords were for relieving himself on but he didn't get the chance as his Mum was hot on his heals and steered him off in another direction.

Sharon with SP Harry - Harry just mixes in so well with all the smaller poodles and he always has a great big smile on his face. He probably does wonder why he and Elsie are the only standards on the poodle walks - maybe the rest of the club standards are waiting for the cooler weather before they join us on the walks.

Lesley with a pack of TP's - too many to name but they all had a ball running back and forth enjoying their freedom and mixing in with fellow club poodles. Other Ginninnderra walkers and members of the public were totally bemused watching all these poodles running around the foreshores.

Thank you to all of the above for their attendance on the March poodle walk. I think we had a total of eight OOP's members and sixteen poodles all up on this walk. It was a leisurely easy going walk for the adults and literally a fun run for the poodles. Sorry you missed the walk Sylvia as I know your guys love the walks and especially the refreshment stops. This will be the last early morning walk for this first half of the year as I will be opting for afternoon walks during the cooler months ahead.

Cheers,

Lesley.
